A big bold blend of Grenache, Syrah and old vine Carignane varieties, the 2006 M. Chapoutier Domaine de Bila-Haut Occultum Lapidem Grenache is wine that delivers loads of flavor. Aromas of dark fruit and Herbes de Provence carry into the opening flavors as they cascade across the palate boldly wrapping the taste sensors in a swirl of smoky meatiness that fulfills instantly. A medium long finish with no distractions makes this an attractive wine from an up and coming region previously not appreciated as a producer of quality. ~Marc Hinton

I had the 2009 with similar notes. Good wine overall. They also make a Côtes du Rhône Belleruche which is reasonable and good.
Thanks for the recommendation on the Belleruche, we’ll seek it out Steven!
