This map depicts wineries and tasting rooms within the Vacqueyras region of France. It is one of many maps generated to support the “Wine Regions of the World” series. Vacqueyras, meaning “valley of stones” is located between the appellations of Gigondas to the north and Beaumes de Venise to the south-east. The vineyards are planted on large terraces formed by the Ouvèze, at an altitude of 60 to 160 metres. This is the eastern limit of the warmest part of the Côtes du Rhône with terraces covered with smooth round pebbles, sandstone, and flint, as well as limestone fragments.

I love this series and I’m glad to see it back. How many more will you post? Is there any chance you will cover Italy or Spain?
