2008 Kelly Fleming Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

2008 Kelly Fleming Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon produced from Estate grown fruit is a wonderful wine. It would be pretty hard to find fault with this wine. The aromas are fruit filled and nuances of floral, vanilla and spice mingle in the background. On the palate, the wine is smooth, plush and user friendly. We decanted our sample for about an hour to allow it to open up the layers this wine has to offer. This is a pretty big wine which a lot of people will enjoy if you are looking for a gift that is expected to deliver. I will say this wine is not for everyone (usually because of unique stylistic qualities) but this one fits that description best. It will pair well with any celebratory meal unless your celebrations include delicate white fish and citrusy sauces as a main course. A perfect match would be Prime Rib, Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings. Definitely one of the best 2008 Cabernets from Napa I have tasted.

Rating: Excellent (91) | $90 | 14.8% ABV

I really appreciate a good cab. Do you know if this winery makes other wines? Thanks a lot!
