Cookies and Wine?

Come on, cookies and wine? Is this one of Dr. Vino’s famous impossible food pairings?

I know many of you are thinking, heck I can’t even wrap my head around your Grüner Veltliner + collard greens recommendation and now you want me to try cookies and wine? Well, don’t knock it until you try it! As odd as it may sound, cookies and wine pair just fine.

I try a lot of unconventional pairings so I was excited when the Associated Press contacted me to give them a few cookie and wine suggestions. The story was syndicated across the web and for once, it really was the worldwide web (thanks Al Gore) so you may have already read Shortbread and Champagne? That’s the way the wine-cookie pairing crumbles, —if not, head on over to The Washington Post to find a few of my tried and true cookie pairings. And with the holiday’s around the corner, you’ll probably be popping some bubbly so make sure you have plenty of popcorn and potato chips to go with your sparklers.  This makes a great treat for arriving guests during the holidays!

And for you skeptics out there, I challenge you to try a few of the pairings mentioned in the Washington Post and tell me what you like or dislike about them—and if you have a recommendation you want me to try, hit me up with a comment!
