2008 Freemark Abbey Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

2008 Freemark Abbey Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

A big classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that exudes the luxury you might not experience in a wine of this linage without reaching much deeper into your pocket. It hits all the notes and as I say in my video review of this wine benchmark quality, but stylistically safe and better off for it. Freemark Abbey is the kind of winery that makes me think of great restaurants that do well and have customers who return time after time. They do well because you recognize and love the dishes they make and each and every time you get what you ordered, not a deconstructed Ruben sandwich or something called risotto where no carnaroli rice is involved. The wine smells like a fine pedigreed Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley and continues that parade well into your first swallow. No surprises here just a very well made wine with lots of structure and complex enough to keep you interested. This wine has a finish that can clear the palate for the next bite of whatever you happen to like to eat with your Cabernet. Enjoy!

Rating: Excellent (91) | $40 | 14.5% ABV
