This wine is a good example of how the well made wines from the 2006 Willamette Valley vintage will be remembered a decade from now. Full bodied, bold and beautiful the aromas are tantalizing notes of dark ripe cherries, mingled with an earthy tone of the smell you get on a dusty dirt road right before a storm. An appetizer of Yukon gold mini latkes topped with cold smoked King Salmon and chive cream fraiche or Oregon Chanterelle risotto would pair well with this wine. It also makes a fantastic stand alone sipper, no food needed. ~Marc Hinton
I wish I could say this wine caught me off guard from its beauty, but having tasted Seufert over the years, I expected nothing less than awesomeness. This is a wine of poetic proportions, a fine elixir that inspires creativity. I’d wax poetically about this wine but my waxing skills just aren’t what they used to be. I’m probably not worthy of even drinking this wine much less writing about it. Have you tasted a wine recently that you had that much respect for? Sommelier’s, get this on your list and save a few bottles for your personal cellar. ~Pamela Heiligenthal
