2009 The Crossings Awatere Valley Marlborough New Zealand Pinot Noir

2009 The Crossings Awatere Valley Marlborough New Zealand Pinot Noir

One of the better 2009 Pinot Noirs I have tasted from New Zealand at a price that cannot be ignored. Structurally a bit weightier than the lighter style of Pinot that usually gets sent north was what endeared me to this wine. Winemaker Matthew Mitchell shows his expertise gathered from working with this grape in other parts of the world showcasing the spice and earthiness along with full throttle dark cherry overtones. I will be adding some of this wine to my cellar collection and it is definitely MacDaddy approved.

Rating: Very Good (88) | $15 | 13.0% ABV
