2007 Hess Collection Mt. Veeder Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

2007 Hess Collection Mt. Veeder Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Good vineyard locations, great winemakers and competent distribution. Hess also has a vineyard crew that brings in fantastic fruit each vintage in a timely manner. Those are a few components a lot of wineries are missing these days. Not a factor at the Hess Collection. With those pesky tasks out of the way the only part of the puzzle left is getting the consumer to enjoy the wine. A classic Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon with complex aromas reminiscent of black cherry and candied caramel apple the flavors exhibit a good amount of vanilla and a chocolaty component from the oak and the blended Malbec. This one will hold a couple of decades but once you have tasted it, it’s unlikely you will be able to keep your hands off of it. This would be a great wine to bring to a celebration dinner or if you want the ultimate pairing for a great Superbowl burger crack one open and see how many people put down their beers and grab a wine glass.

Rating: Excellent (91) | $48 | 14.6% ABV
