2011 Brancott New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc

This part of New Zealand in the Brancott Estate range has a reputation for producing consistent quality and this wine resembles that remark at a price that cannot be beat. You will love the fresh and elegant non-oaked style this Sauvignon blanc has to offer—zesty lemon and grapefruit with hints of peach and a touch of grass. It is a very direct, fruit driven wine with lots of style and finesse. If you are looking for a few food-pairing suggestions, try white fish. The producer also recommends hummus, olives and feta—sounds like a tasty match as well. And before I forget, if you have a smartphone, check out the handy neck tag and scan the QR code. They have a mobile app that is pretty cool!

Rating: Very Good (89) | $12 | 12.5% ABV

As usual, good review! I was recently introduced to the diversity of New Zealand wines through a virtual tasting. I am really excited about trying more of their wines, and this one sounds delicious.

I really enjoy a good NZ sauv blanc, even more so a good Pinot.

Purchased this tonight as I was cruising through the grocery store.. . I read your blog often but almost never remember wines you blog about. Tonight I wasn’t even going to buy wine but was walking down the isle and of course I had to look as I walked and BAM there it was. “I am getting this, I read about it on that wine blog I read all the time.” Anyway, I enjoy your blog and can’t wait to try this wine.

  4. I found so many interesting articles on your blog especially its discussion. From the tons of comments on your articles, I guess I am not the only one having all the enjoyment here! keep up the good work.
