They are all causes to support Team Rubicon and you can enter a sweepstakes from a charity-focused business called Omaze, a company recently listed as 23 Hot LA Startups You Need To Watch from Business Insider.
Here is how the business works: Omaze offers once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. You donate to win the prize. A portion of the proceeds from each sweepstakes is donated to support a social mission of the celebrity or luminary’s choice.
This particular sweepstakes supports Team Rubicon. They’re too humble to admit it, but these folks are true heroes. They served as veterans and are now harnessing the skills cultivated in the combat zone to help save lives in disaster zones. Every dollar you donate helps returning vets find a renewed sense of purpose for their skills and provides critical early relief in disasters. Their goal is to empower 250 veterans by July 31.
The giveaway: We have teamed up with Omaze and a cool marketing and events firm to give you the opportunity to win a spectacular once-in-a-lifetime prize. We are giving away 15 free donation tickets. Leave a comment on this post BY MONDAY JULY 23, and we will randomly select 15 lucky winners to enter into the experience.
What do you win? You get to go on a wine tasting trip to Santa Barbara, flown privately by Navy SEALs. Winning the experience means you will be flown roundtrip to LA, put up in a hotel, then flown on a private plane with Navy SEALS to wine country with two very handsome SEALs. If you’re lucky, you might be able to learn how to fly the plane, too. If you would prefer a chance to win one of the other experiences mentioned at the beginning of this post, I’m sure I can work some magic to make it happen.

I’ll support any cause to help our troops. If I win, the Navy SEALS would be cool, but the Scotch tasting sounds great too. My friends might make fun of me if I go on a date with a seal!!! Who cares though, its the NAVY SEALS!!!
