Wine Review: 2009 V. Sattui Gilsson Vineyard Zinfandel

Wine Review: 2009 V. Sattui Zinfandel, Gilsson Vineyard, Russian River Valley, California

Big, luscious and fruity this V. Sattui Zinfandel puts the zing in Zin. The aromas are concentrated floral, spice and berry that are indicative to what fifty year+ vines will produce. This powerhouse V. Sattui Zinfandel will conquer the smoky flavors of MacDaddy soul food (check out my recipe of Pork Chops, Collard Greens with Mac & Cheese). This wine has an elegant finish that belies the 15% ABV.  For a wine with high octane, this wine is surprisingly balanced and not a bit hot. 839 case production.

Rating: Excellent (92) | $39 | 15.0% ABV
