Wine Review: 2010 V. Sattui Henry Ranch Los Carneros Pinot Noir

The 2010 vintage produced a complex but rustic wine that somehow remained balanced; not a statement usually made about Los Carneros Pinot noir. The aromas are cherry and spice that come across boldly. The flavors express a wide spectrum of descriptors including black cherries, dried berries, sage, minerals, tobacco and a hint of graphite on the finish. The wine exceeds the culinary capability of most Pinot noir making it quite versatile. It will pair well with big, bold flavors. If you are a fan of serving Pinot noir with Salmon I suggest alder wood planking or grilling it; lamb and beef will also work well with this wine. 1089 case production.

Rating: Excellent (90) | $39 | 13.5% ABV
