Wine Review: 2009 Castello di Amorosa Super Tuscan Blend

Wine Review: 2009 Castello di Amorosa Super Tuscan Blend, Napa, California

Castello di Amorosa Super Tuscan Blend: This winery produces primarily Italian style wines that reflect Napa’s unique terroir. The 2009 vintage is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 15% Sangiovese. Feminine in style, it showcases rose petal, raspberries and red fruit in the glass. The complex, textural mid-palette is harmonious; soft tannins play in the background leading to a crescendo of acidity that carries through to the medium-long finish.

What is the perfect pairing? A grilled veal chop served with polenta wild mushroom ragout and balsamic marinated grilled escarole.

Rating: Very Good (89) | $107 | 14.6% ABV
