Wine Review: 2012 Hawks View Cellars Pinot Noir, Chehalem Mountains, Oregon
Easily recognizable as a Willamette Valley Pinot, the Hawks View Cellars Pinot noir has fresh aromas of tart cherry, baking spice, and fresh turned earth. The bouquet will have a broad appeal to most Pinot hounds.
The flavors run true to form also; although a little on the lighter side despite having structural density. Offering up plump ripe plum and enticing blueberry flavors that carry through all the way to the finish. Expansive culinary pairings are possible due to the fresh backbone of acidity and balanced tannins.
