In Your Face Finish: Balletto Chardonnay

2014 Balletto Chardonnay Russian River, Sonoma County, California

The aromas are unique and aggressive, like you just walked into a kitchen where a freshly baked apple pie is cooling, and the chef just torched the sugar crust on a lemon Crème brulee.

Big and bold layered flavors of lemon zest, and poached pear accompanied with notes of white floral and peach. In the mouth, the balancing act between the acid and fruit expresses the many facets of the complex structure.

Then comes the big treat a long (I just sailed twenty feet through the air ally-oop like slam dunk) “It’s in your face” finish!  Like the big-boom of a microphone drop. It’s Macdaddy delicious.
