2014 Gary Farrell Chardonnay Russian River Selection

Vintage after vintage, I’m never disappointed by the wines coming from this producer.  The 2014 Gary Farrell Chardonnay Russian River Selection from Sonoma County is no exception. It continues the tradition Gary Farrell has created while producing excellent wines from Russian River vineyards. Vinting her third vintage with Gary Farrell, winemaker Theresa Heredia drew on nine Russian River vineyard sites, including pedigreed vineyards like Bacigalupi, Rochioli and Allen, to produce this astute elixir.

This wine is a lot like a fighter who is competing in a heavier weight class. Amazingly this middleweight tastes a lot like a much bigger heavyweight, due to the finesse, and complexity showing an amped up mix of white pepper, Meyer lemon cream, and white floral aromas.  King Crab legs, lemon, and butter is all you need to complete one of life’s best wine pairings.

Rating: Excellent (92) | $35 | 12.8 % ABV
