Pamela Heiligenthal

Pamela thrives on exploring cities around the world—and no matter where she goes, her favorite experiences almost always involve food and wine. Whether it’s hitting up the chef’s revered spot in Finland, or stopping at the cabbie’s favorite Korean fried chicken place in Australia, or finding the most magical food and wine event in the Cayman Islands, her mission is to spotlight the best food and wine experiences across the globe.

Her photos and writings appear in print and online, including the Los Angeles Times, National Public Radio, The Harvard Gazette, Vegetarian Times, AboutFace Magazine, The Sommelier Journal, The Oregonian, U.C. Berkeley Astrobiology News, the Washington Post, Saveur Magazine, The Associated Press and USA Today.

Enobytes (“Eno” – short for Enology: a science that deals with wine and wine making, and “bytes”, a unit of digital information) has been around since 1997.  Back then, founders Marc Hinton and Pamela Heiligenthal worked in the hospitality industry and provided consulting services for the restaurant industry in the San Francisco bay area. Since then, the company has evolved.  In 2006, the online version of Enobytes.com emerged as the business expanded their services to educate and share their passion and knowledge of wine and food with their readers across the globe. Today, we’ve helped 12 million people across the globe discover the art of eating better, traveling wiser, and drinking smarter.

Enobytes vision is simple: We’re here to inspire you to explore new horizons and to help you eat better, drink smarter, and travel wiser. We believe leisure is an art, so grab a libation and get ready to make the world your comfort zone.

We’ve appeared in a number of different outlets, including the Los Angeles Times, National Public Radio (NPR), The Harvard Gazette, Vegetarian Times, AboutFace Magazine, The Sommelier Journal, VIV Magazine, The Oregonian, U.C. Berkeley Astrobiology News, Serious Eats, the Washington Post, Saveur Magazine, The Associated Press, USA Today, the San Jose Mercury News, Tacoma News Tribune, the Washington Post, Portland’s “Vine Time” on News Radio 750 KXL and California’s Central Coast “From the Growing of the Grape to the Glass” on KUHL-AM 1410.
