EAT. DRINK. TRAVEL.
Discover the art of eating better, traveling wiser, & drinking smarter.
Hello! We’re Marc and Pamela, a chef and sommelier duo. We’ve spent a lifetime discovering great wines, innovative food, benchmark restaurants, bucket list resorts and entertaining bars. We created this website to inspire you to explore new horizons and to help you eat better, drink smarter, and travel wiser. We believe leisure is an art, so grab a libation and get ready to make the world your comfort zone.
Enobytes (“Eno” – short for Enology: a science that deals with wine and wine making, and “bytes”, a unit of digital information) has been around since 1997. Back then, founders Marc Hinton and Pamela Heiligenthal worked in the hospitality industry and provided consulting services for the restaurant industry in the San Francisco bay area. Since then, the company has evolved. In 2006, the online version of Enobytes.com emerged as the business expanded their services to educate and share their passion and knowledge of wine and food with their readers across the globe. Today, we’ve helped 12 million people across the globe discover the art of eating better, traveling wiser, and drinking smarter.
We’ve appeared in a number of different outlets, including the Los Angeles Times, National Public Radio (NPR), The Harvard Gazette, Vegetarian Times, AboutFace Magazine, The Sommelier Journal, VIV Magazine, The Oregonian, U.C. Berkeley Astrobiology News, Serious Eats, the Washington Post, Saveur Magazine, The Associated Press, USA Today, the San Jose Mercury News, Tacoma News Tribune, the Washington Post, Portland’s “Vine Time” on News Radio 750 KXL and California’s Central Coast “From the Growing of the Grape to the Glass” on KUHL-AM 1410. Your stories have inspired us to get out of our comfort zone and travel to Spain. Thanks for the great recommendations on where to wine and dine! We followed your itinerary and visited Peñafiel, La Rioja and Castelldefels and had a great time. We’re looking forward to your next story, and will always be longtime subscribers.
